What we collect
Your account (name, email address and sign-in method) is managed by Clerk. When you read papers, we store your library, highlights, comments, explanations, notes and chat history so you can return to them. PDFs you upload are stored so you can read them again.
Where it is stored
Reading data and files are stored on Cloudflare (R2 storage and D1 database). Your notes, highlights and uploads are only available to you. In a team, the team's library, uploads, highlights, comments and explanations are shared with its members; notes, chat and reading position stay private to each member. Papers fetched from arXiv and AI results computed from them may be cached and reused for other users.
AI processing
When you use AI features, the relevant text, page images and your question are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate the answer.
Browser extension
The XYZNOT browser extension acts only when you use it. When you click its button on an arXiv page, it opens that paper on xyznot.com. When you click it on a PDF from another site, it reads that one PDF in your browser and sends it to xyznot.com, where it is added to your library as an upload. Its optional settings redirect arXiv links to xyznot.com; they are stored in your browser. The extension does not read other pages, track browsing, or collect any other data.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed by Clerk and Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.
Google sign-in
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture only to create and identify your account. We do not access other Google data and do not sell or share it.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account from the account menu. To have your reading data removed, email support@rebyte.ai.
